Heat index in Dagupan City, Pangasinan hits 50°C on May 13


The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Monday, May 13, that Dagupan City in Pangasinan had experienced a heat index of 50 degrees Celsius (°C), which was under the “danger” category.

PAGASA said that a heat index of 48°C was felt in CBSUA-Pili, Camarines Sur, and 47°C was felt in Sangley Point, Cavite; Virac (Synop), Catanduanes; and Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

It was followed by a heat index of 46°C in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte; Iba, Zambales; Roxas City, Capiz; and Catarman, Northern Samar.

A heat index of 45°C was experienced in Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Pasay City, Metro Manila; Aparri, Cagayan; Cubi Pt., Subic Bay, Olongapo City; San Jose, Occidental Mindoro; Iloilo City, Iloilo; La Granja, La Carlota, Negros Occidental and Butuan City, Agusan Del Norte.

Bacnotan, La Union; Calayan, Cagayan; Tuguegarao City, Cagayan; ISU Echague, Isabela; Puerto Princesa City, Palawan; Cuyo, Palawan; Legazpi City, Albay, Masbate City, Masbate; Dumagas, Iloilo; Zamboanga City, Zamboanga Del Sur had a heat index of 44°C.

It also said a heat index of 43°C Science Garden Quezon City, Metro Manila; Clark Airport, Pampanga; Baler and Casiguran Aurora; Ambulong, Tanauan Batangas; Aborlan, Palawan and Tacloban City, Leyte.

A heat index of 42°C was also felt in Sinait, Ilocos Sur; MMSU, Batac, Ilocos Norte; Itbayat, Batanes; NVSU Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya; CLSU Muñoz, Nueva Ecija; Alabat and Mulanay, Quezon; Daet, Camarines Norte; Siquijor, Siquijor; Davao City, Davao Del Sur, and Surigao City, Surigao Del Norte.
