House Speaker Martin Romualdez gave special mentions to the two most important women in his life in his Mother's Day message on Sunday, May 12. 

"On this Mother's Day, I extend my warmest greetings to all the mothers across the country, and a special shout-out to my beloved wife, [Tingog Party-list] Rep. Yedda Romualdez," Speaker Romualdez said. 

"Thank you Mama Juliette, my mother, for making us, her children, and her grandchildren the center of her universe," he said. 

"To my wife, Yedda, your unwavering support and dedication not only as a mother but also in your public service, continues to inspire and uplift all who know you," added the Leyte 1st district congressman. 

"Happy Mother's Day to all the remarkable mothers out there! Your guidance illuminates our paths and your love enriches our lives, today and always," he further said. 

The Speaker referred to mothers as "the foundation of every Filipino family, their love and strength guiding us from our earliest days into adulthood". 

"Today, we celebrate the irreplaceable women in our lives—our nanays, lolas, and inas. Each plays a unique and pivotal role, and their impact resonates deeply within our society...They offer wisdom in quiet moments and resilience when faced with challenges, profoundly shaping both our lives and our communities," he said. 

"To every Filipino mother who gracefully manages the demands of life while ensuring our homes are filled with warmth, your efforts are the backbone of our families. Your presence is a constant source of comfort and an endless source of inspiration," said the House leader. 

"Let’s take a moment today to express our gratitude, to honor their enduring strength, and to cherish the precious time we share. May this day be filled with joy and be a testament to the love and respect we hold for you," the Speaker further said.
