Eastern Visayas to have scattered rain showers, thunderstorms
Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may affect Eastern Visayas due to easterlies, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Sunday, May 12.
PAGASA warned that moderate to heavy rains in Eastern Visayas could cause flash floods or landslides within the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country may continue to experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
PAGASA also warned the public about flash floods and landslides that may occur during severe thunderstorms.
According to PAGASA weather specialist Grace Castañeda, a low pressure area is unlikely to form within the country's area of responsibility in the coming days.
