Our first encounter with a Le Labo fragrance was in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and ever since then, it has held a special place among our favorite niche brands. Now, fragrance enthusiasts in the Philippines no longer need to travel to Hong Kong, Malaysia, or Indonesia to indulge in Le Labo, as it has officially arrived in the country.
In January 2024, perfume lovers were thrilled to see a sign go up at Greenbelt 5 in Ayala Center, Makati, announcing the imminent opening of this New York-founded house. Four months later, Le Labo opened its doors to the public.
Established in 2006, Le Labo is renowned for fragrances like Santal 33, Another 13, The Noir 29, and The Matcha 26, all of which have garnered a cult following. The numbers following the fragrance names represent the number of ingredients used in each scent, though they don't necessarily correlate with the fragrance's potency or longevity.
A unique aspect of the brand is its City Exclusives line, featuring scents inspired by and exclusively available in specific cities. In Asia, examples include Myrrhe 55 for Shanghai, Guaiac 10 for Tokyo, Citron 28 for Seoul, and Biggrade 18 for Hong Kong. However, once a year, patrons have the opportunity to purchase City Exclusives throughout September.
The prices of the fine fragrances range from P5,900 for 30ml, P13,600 for 50ml, and P19,000 for 100ml.
Le Labo will also be opening a store in Mall of Asia in Pasay City, which the brand has stated will open later this year.
