In the hopes of awakening the entrepreneurial spirit of public school students, Concepcion spent time with students from the Raja Soliman Science High School and Rizal High School on Friday, May 10, as part of Go Negosyo’s “The Boardroom Experience,” a unique and immersive program for entrepreneurship and business leadership.
“This is an immersive learning experience for the students,” Concepcion said.
“How many kids their age get to see the inside of an actual boardroom and interact with the CEO? This will help them prepare for when they have to present their business ideas to seasoned businessmen and give them the confidence to hold their own when the time comes,” he added.
In “The Boardroom Experience,” senior high school students studying in public schools under the ABM (Accountancy, Business, and Management), STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), TVL (Technical-Vocational Livelihood), and HUMMS (Humanities and Social Sciences) strands engage in one-hour sessions inside a real-life boardroom.
During the session, they can ask questions and participate in discussions centering around entrepreneurship, leadership, and innovation.
Go Negosyo hopes that through the activity, which is part of its Youthpreneur program, students can have an enhanced understanding of entrepreneurship and leadership through direct interaction with business leaders and actual exposure to real-world business practices.
Aside from Concepcion, who is also the Association of Southeast Asian Nations’ Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) Philippines chairman, the discussion was also attended by his daughter, Bella Concepcion, and Stefanie Lois Garcia.
Both are digital content creators and influencers who shared with the students their experience in being digital entrepreneurs.
“The Boardroom Experience” is open to students who have actively participated in the Youthpreneur programs, which are held in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd) to promote entrepreneurship, mentorship, and financial literacy.
Concepcion, who held the boardroom experience at the RFM’s building in Mandaluyong City, encouraged fellow businessmen to become part of the activity in hopes of growing the next generation of entrepreneurs.
