Corrections Chief Inspector Josemari D. Alambro is the new acting superintendent of the Leyte Regional Prison (LRP) in Abuyog, Leyte.
Alambro replaced C/Supt. Alfredo A Devaras Jr. The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor), in its statement issued on Saturday, May 11, did not state if Devaras has retired or has been transfered to another penal farm.
BuCor said the turnover ceremony was held at LRP last Friday, May 10. It said the event was attended by commissioned officers, non-commissioned officers, and non-uniformed personnel of the LRP as well as members of the Corrections Officer Custodial Basic Course (COCBC) CL 01-2023.
It said that Alambro assured he will do his best for the LRP, one of the seven prison and penal farms of BuCor.
Aside from LRP, BuCor's six other prison and penal farms are the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City, the Correctional Institution for Women in Mandaluyong City, the Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm in Puerto Princesa City in Palawan, the Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm in Occidental Mindoro, the San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm in Zamboanga City, and the Davao Prison and Penal Farm in Panabo City in Davao del Norte.
