To honor the hard work and perseverance of Filipino workers, especially those who have been enduring the extreme heat in the streets this summer, Grab Philippines activated Grab Palamig Spots in the hottest cities in the Philippines to give out refreshment drinks and provide a place to cool down on Labor Day.
Motivated by the dedication of these on-the-road heroes, Grab Philippines devised a meaningful initiative to give back to the community. An initiative under its No Sweat Summer campaign, Grab deployed its Grab Palamig Spots in high-traffic and accessible areas across the country, particularly, in Quezon City Memorial Circle, Agdao Public Market in Davao, and the SM City Cebu Terminal.
On May 1st, as part of the Labor Day celebration, Grab drivers within a 1.5km radius of these locations were promptly notified of the location of Grab Palamig Spots, with special GrabMap Pins having been activated for easier navigation. This ensured that Grab's dedicated drivers, who are integral to the company's operations, were encouraged to visit and enjoy a quick respite from the heat at the Grab Palamig Spot.
In the spots, brand ambassadors cheerfully assisted and gave out drinks like cold cans of refreshments, bottled water, and ice cream, among others, to groups of delivery riders, traffic enforcers, street sweepers, and other workers who spend their days working under the heat of the sun.
Grab’s very own delivery partners volunteered as well to help in the distribution of the coolers to the guests. The Grab Ugnayan Advocates – a network of delivery riders dedicated to community outreach – visited the palamig spots to actively extend invitations and offer assistance to street workers intending to swiftly rest.

Besides free drinks, the team also offered a mini-lounge area with bean bags and a 16°C room temperature where street workers can cool down during their breaks.
Grab collaborated with the local government units of Quezon City, Davao City, and Cebu City to extend a thoughtful invitation to the tireless street workers.
These spots serve as tangible expressions of Grab's commitment to providing convenient and hassle-free experiences, offering much-needed breaks and moments of relief amidst the scorching heat.
Grab underscores its mission to enhance the everyday lives of all Filipinos, demonstrating that even in the hottest of seasons, relief and relaxation are just a Grab away.
