The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) confirmed on Saturday, May 11, that the shear line no longer affects the country.

As a result, the state weather bureau has advised the public to expect generally fair but warm and humid weather across the entire country, with easterlies persisting.
"Wala nang shear line o anumang frontal system na nakakaapekto dito sa ating bansa (There's no shearline or any frontal system affecting our country)," said PAGASA Weather Forecaster Chenel Dominguez in PAGASA's latest update.
"At asahan natin, easterlies, o ang mainit at maalinsangan na hangin na nanggagaling sa Dagat Pasipiko, ang umiiral dito sa buong bansa natin (Instead, we can expect easterlies, which are warm and humid winds coming from the Pacific Ocean, prevailing across the entire nation)," she added.
PAGASA then advised the public to expect generally fair yet warm and humid weather across the country during midday, with the possibility of localized thunderstorms occurring in the afternoon and evening.
Expected weather conditions for Sunday
Meanwhile, PAGASA emphasized that easterlies will continue to prevail on May 12.
"Here in Luzon, we can anticipate generally fair weather, but there will still be chances of isolated rain showers and localized thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening," Dominguez said in a mix of English and Filipino.
"So, it's advisable to stay updated in case PAGASA issues a thunderstorm advisory," she added.
