"A professional liar."

This is how President Marcos described Jonathan Morales, the former Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agent who alleged the Chief Executive's involvement in a drug operation in 2012, saying the latter's remarks are senseless.

Marcos said this amid the ongoing Senate probe on PDEA's supposed leaked operational documents from March 11, 2012, that allegedly implicated Marcos and actress Maricel Soriano in illegal drug use.

In an interview, the President compared Morales to a karaoke machine that will play any song as long as you insert a coin into his slot.

"This fellow is a professional liar at parang jukebox 'yan (he's like a jukebox)" he told reporters in General Santos City on Friday, May 10.

"Basta maghulog ka ng pera, kahit anong kantang gusto mo, kakantahin niya (As long as you put a coin in, he'll sing any song you want)," he added.

"Iyon ang hanapbuhay yata niya, kaya professional liar ang tawag ko sa kanya (I think that that's his job. That's why I call him a professional liar)," he continued.

According to Marcos, there was no sense in listening to Morales' remarks as the latter supposedly has a history of making false testimonies.

"Walang saysay. Tingnan mo na lang ang kanyang record (There's no sense. Just look at his record)," he said.

"Marami siyang history na kung sino-sino sinasangkot kung saan-saan (He has a history of implicating people in any issue)," he added.

Senator Jinggoy Estrada disclosed that Morales had been charged with criminal complaints in several local courts, including for violating article 180 of the Revised Penal Code (RPC) about false testimony.

"If this is true, estafa pending before Metropolitan Trial Court in Pasig City, slight physical injuries pending before Branch 72 Pasig City,” Estrada said.

“The facts and evidence presented clearly demonstrate the questionable integrity and credibility of this particular resource person, and the same evidence refutes all accusations against the PDEA and its current leadership. The statements given by this particular resource person against the agency and leadership are evidently perjurious, defamatory, and outright false,” he added.

The PDEA has already cleared President Marcos of his supposed inclusion in a drugs watchlist.
