Muntinlupa LGU starts implementing new office hours


The Muntinlupa City government started implementing its new office hours of 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 2. 

This is based on Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Resolution No. 24-08, signed by all Metro Manila mayors, adopting a modified working hour schedule from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. to reduce traffic congestion, especially during peak hours.

“The traditional 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM working hours in government offices align with the standard working hours of private companies, thereby contributing to traffic congestion in Metro Manila,” according to the resolution. 

To implement the new office hours in the Muntinlupa City government, Mayor Ruffy Biazon issued Executive Order No. 12. 

Under the order, while majority of all city government offices have shifted to the new office hours, departments which provide frontline services will be open until 5 p.m. with a skeletal workforce from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. 

The Muntinlupa City government offices which will be open until 5 p.m. are the following: 

• Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO Muntinlupa)

• City Treasurer's Office - Muntinlupa City

• City Assessor's Office - Muntinlupa

• Office of the Building Official - Muntinlupa City

• Management Information Systems Office (MIS Muntinlupa)

In addition, departments and offices mandated to provide round-the-clock services and implementing shifting schedules are exempted from the new office hours. These are:

• Ospital ng Muntinlupa 0 

•  Putatan Super Health Center under the City Health Office 

• Muntinlupa Traffic Management Bureau

• Public Order and Safety Office 

• City Security Office 

• City Engineering Department 

• Department of Disaster Resilience and Management

• Social Services Department

• Environmental Sanitation Center

• Lake Management Office

• Office of the City Market Administrator

Meanwhile, the Muntinlupa Local Civil Registry Office will remain operating from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. city government personnel deployed to national government offices will also follow the 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. work schedule.
