Filipino workers are modern-day heroes — VP Duterte

Vice President Sara Duterte on Wednesday, May 1, honored the Filipino workers by saying they are the country's modern-day heroes.

In her Labor Day's message, Duterte said she commends the workers' invaluable diligence and dedication, which contribute to the development of the country.

She also cited the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), the medical and security frontliners, the community workers and the teachers in the public and private sectors whose efforts are being recognition and importance by the government.

"Kayo ang itinuturing na tunay na bayani sa makabagong panahon. Nawa'y ipagpatuloy natin ang pagtahak sa isang maunlad na kinabukasan (You are the real modern-day heroes. May you continue your pursuit for a more progressive future)," Duterte said.

"Sa pagpupugay na ito, isang panalangin ang aming isinasamo—ang inyong patuloy na pag-unlad at tagumpay (In this tribute, we only have one wish—your continued progress and success)," she added.

Duterte also called for a united pursuit of a strong and progressive country that also has love and care for the people.
