Dave Almarinez, husband of actress Ara Mina, made the year 2024 even more blessed as they welcomed another business venture: a ride-hailing app called "Peek-Up."

During its official launch at the SM Megamall on April 30, Dave shared that the project was only created a year ago when his friend Jayson Chua reached out to him.

"Ang Peek-Up ay nagsimula one year ago, when I received a call from my co-founder and friend Jayson Chua, sabi niya sa akin, Dave pwede ba tayo magbuild ng ride-hailing app para naman magbigyan nating ng magandang services yung mga commuters. And I told him, how serious are we? So fast forward today, we are fully ready," Dave said.

Together with his team, Dave also added that the app took them 10 months to build, making sure that every customer and commuter is safe and comfortable.

"Ten months in the making, ‘yung development ng app. My partners are in the transport industry. We have to put a new player para may choice kasi we kept on hearing sa passengers na ang ‘mahal naman.’ To solve those problems, we built this company. Cheaper ang fare," he added.

When it comes to the screening of the drivers, Dave and his team made sure that they all went through training to uphold their goal which is giving their customers comfort and safety.

As per Dave, "Peek-Up" has already accumulated 1,000 units of cars and drivers that are now ready to be booked by using the application.

Ara shows support to Dave

Despite her busy schedule, Ara made sure to support her husband's new business venture.

"Mamaya po nandito siya. Full support po ang aking may bahay, as I've said she will be making an appearance on today's festivities para ipakita ang kanyang support sa Peek up. And I think, no doubt lahat ng pwede niyang ibigay na support sa Peek Up at sa akin, wala na akong masasabi," Dave shared.

(She will be here later. My wife is in full support, as I've said she will be making an appearance on today's festivities to show her support for Peek Up. And I think, no doubt all the support she can give to Peek Up and to me, I can't say anything more)

He also mentioned that even though Ara is not part of the team of his business, she had some inputs when it came to the creative side of the app.

"Our app is professionally run by me and my co-founders, but then again may mga personal input and personal touch si Ara," he added.

Besides the unwavering support of Ara, Dave is also supportive in terms of her wife's showbiz career.

"Of course, nung aking pinakasalan si Ara, syempre tinaggap ko na rin yung showbiz career na kailangan ko supportahan ang aking may bahay, sabi nga nila Happy wife, happy life," he said.
