CEBU CITY – More than 500 persons were arrested for various offenses in the two-day Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO) police operation in Central Visayas.

The Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO-7) reported that from April 29 to 30, 504 persons were arrested, 147 of them for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
"Non-stop, series, and simultaneous impactful anti-drug operations will be continuing as long as illegal drug personalities will not change their ways. Our commitment to deliver a safe and secure Central Visayas will be unwavering, uncompromising, and relentless," said Police Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin, chief of PRO-7.
During the two-day period, 2,440.67 grams of suspected shabu worth P16.4 million were seized.
In the campaign against illegal gambling, 242 persons were arrested while P22,553 in bet money was confiscated.
A total of 110 unlicensed firearms were confiscated while 14 persons were arrested in the campaign against loose firearms.
Police served arrest warrants to arrest 11 most wanted persons and 91 other wanted persons.
The continued success of SACLEO was attributed to the cooperation of the public.
"The public has been a huge help in our anti-criminality campaign. We warn those who refuse to stop to engage in illegal activities, we will soon catch you because our anti-criminality will continue to be unrelenting," said Police Lt. Col. Gerard Ace Pelare, spokesperson of Aberin.
