2 rescued, 2 missing from collapsed deep well

CALAUAG, Quezon – Two workers were rescued and two others remain missing when the deep well they were digging collapsed on Tuesday afternoon, April 30, in Barangay Biyan, this town.

Two workers – Ulpiano Cantara, 69, and Saturnino Marana – were rescued. They sustained minor injuries.

Two colleagues – Joseph Estaka and Joseito Dominiano – were buried alive and a retrieval operation is ongoing by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office.

Police said the victims were excavating a six-foot wide and 13-foot deep well when it collapsed.
