VP Sara on Day of Valor: Continue to learn our history by heart
Vice President Sara Duterte urged Filipinos to continue taking to heart the lessons of the country's history, especially the sacrifices made during the war.

In her message for the 82nd anniversary of the Araw ng Kagitingan or Day of Valor, Duterte paid tribute to the veterans of war for their sacrifices in attaining freedom for the Philippines.
"Sila ay natatanging halimbawa ng tapang at pagmamahal sa bayan. Ang kanilang hangarin na ipagtanggol ang dangal at integridad ng ating bansa sa panahon ng digmaan ay inspirasyon na dapat nating tularan at alagaan (They are the example of unique bravery and love for the country. Their desire to defend the honor and integrity of our country during the war is an inspiration that must be emulated and protected)," Duterte said on Tuesday, April 9.
"Kaya't patuloy nating isapuso at tutukan ang mga aral ng ating kasaysayan (So let us continue to learn our history by heart)," she added.
The Vice President said that her office and the Department of Education (DepEd), which she heads, aim to teach and make every young Filipino understand the importance of history and the significance of those who sacrificed their lives for the country.
She urged the nation to commemorate the heroism of Filipino war veterans to uphold a peaceful and stable Philippines.
The Day of Valor, which marks its 82nd anniversary on Tuesday, commemorates the heroism and sacrifice of Filipinos during World War II.
