Six drug peddlers nabbed by Bulacan police, P1.9M shabu seized

Authorities scored a major victory against the proliferation of illegal drugs with the arrest of six drug peddlers, including a high-value individual (HVI), during an anti-illegal drug operation on Saturday and Sunday, April 6 and 7.

Authorities seized a total of P1,928,000 million worth of suspected shabu.

The 51-year-old HVI, a businessman from the City of San Jose Del Monte, was arrested by joint operatives from the Calumpit police and the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) of Bulacan in Barangay Pio Cruzcosa, Calumpit, Bulacan around 5:55 p.m. He was identified by the police as alias “Choco.”

Seized from Choco were eight plastic bags containing approximately 270 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P1,836,000 along with the marked money.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 are being prepared against him for court referral while ongoing an investigation is underway to uncover any potential connections or accomplices involved in his alleged illegal drug trade activities.

PRO3 Director Brig. Gen. Jose S. Hidalgo Jr. said the apprehension of “Choco” signifies PRO3’s relentless fight against illegal drugs, demonstrating the determination of law enforcement agencies to uphold the rule of law and safeguard communities from the adverse impact of illegal drugs in line with the directives of newly installed Philippine National Police Chief General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil. 

Last Saturday, April 6, five individuals were arrested inside a suspected makeshift drug den in Barangay Minuyan in the City of San Jose Del Monte. Police confiscated P102,000 worth of shabu following a buy-bust operation.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Bulacan identified the arrested suspects as Hayer Habas Ricaburda, 28, Jayson Manaois Dela Cruz, 26, Jericho Lumasag Dela Cruz, 29, Jericho Icho Colete, 18, and Jayson Perez Nunez, 39, all of Towerville, Minuyan Proper, CSJDM. The operation was jointly conducted by PDEA Bulacan and PDEA Aurora provincial offices.
