PAGASA: 8 areas may experience 'dangerous' heat indices of 42℃ to 44℃ on April 10

Brace for another sweltering day, as eight locations could see “dangerous” heat indices of 42 to 44 degrees Celsius (℃) on Wednesday, April 10.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Dagupan City, Pangasinan may record a heat index of 44℃, while Puerto Princesa City, Palawan and Aborlan, Palawan may register a heat index of 43℃.
Meanwhile, Bacnotan, La Union; San Jose, Occidental Mindoro; Roxas City, Capiz; Guiuan, Eastern Samar; and Cotabato City, Maguindanao may have a heat index of 42℃.
PAGASA defines the heat index as the measurement of how hot it feels when relative humidity is combined with the actual air temperature.
It said a heat index ranging from 42°C to 51°C indicates imminent "danger," as "heat cramps and heat exhaustion are likely," and "heat stroke is probable with continued activity."
PAGASA recorded the country’s highest heat index so far this year on March 27 in Roxas City, Capiz at 48°C.
