No tsunami threat after 6.6-magnitude quake off Molucca Sea --- Phivolcs
There is no threat of a tsunami to the Philippines after a 6.6-magnitude earthquake struck waters off the Molucca Sea near Indonesia on Tuesday, April 9, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

Phivolcs said it had not detected a tsunami threat after the earthquake was recorded northeast of Molucca Sea at 5:48 p.m.
“No destructive tsunami threat exists based on available data,” Phivolcs said. “No action [is] required,” it added.
Phivolcs reminded that the issuance will be the only “tsunami information issued” unless additional information becomes available.
“This is for information purposes only and there is no tsunami threat to the Philippines from this earthquake,” Phivolcs said.
