Cops nab 2 forgers behind fake QCitizen IDs for PWDs


The Quezon City Police District on Monday, April 8, arrested two individuals reportedly behind the falsification of QCitizen IDs for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). 

The joint operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU), and District Special Operations Unit (DSOU) arrested Deline Pacala Banaag, 27, a resident of Barangay Silangan, Quezon City, and Jaywen Doctama Laurinom 24, a resident of Bagong Silangan, Caloocan City. 

Based on the initial police report, Arnold Delicio Cabral of Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) of Quezon City reported to CIDU on April 8 an increasing number of fake QCitizen IDs for Persons with Disabilities (PWD) confiscated by their office from several clients.

An entrapment operation was conducted in coordination with the Caloocan City Police Station. 

The complainant agreed to meet the suspects at Santo Nino de Bagong Silang, Phase 1 Brgy. 176 Bagong Silang, Caloocan City,  with whom he had a previous transaction involving the delivery of fake QCitizen IDs. 

The suspects were subsequently arrested. Confiscated from them were five fake QCitizen ID Cards for PWDs, two cellular phones, one black coin purse, and one motorcycle.

Banaag and Laurinom will be charged for violation of Article 172 or the Falsification by Private Individuals and Use of Falsified Documents in relation to R.A 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
