PRO-Cordillera cops net P3.2-M marijuana, shabu

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet â€“ Police seized shabu and marijuana worth P3.2 million and arrested five suspected drug pushers in the Cordillera region from April 1 to 7.

The Police Regional Office-Cordillera Regional Operations Division said the suspects yielded suspected shabu totaling 4.47 grams valued at P30,396.

The Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) and Baguio City Police Office arrested two each and the Abra PPO one.

Four were classified as high-value individuals and one was a street-level individual.

Suspects face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The Benguet PPO seized 4,675 fully-grown marijuana plants and 20 kilos of dried marijuana stalks and fruiting tops valued at P3.2 million in eradication operations in Bakun and Kibungan, Benguet.

Seized marijuana was destroyed on-site and efforts are underway to identify their cultivators.
