Marcos gives land titles to NegOcc farmers

A total of 4,724 land beneficiaries on Monday received their certificates of ownership as President Marcos led the distribution in Negros Occidental.

Marcos’ move is part of his administration’s commitment to award land ownership to farmers selected as land reform beneficiaries, Malacanang said.

“Ang ating patitipon dito sa Bago City ay patunay na ang inyong pamahalaan, sa pangunguna ng Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), ay hindi tumigil sa pagtupad ng among pangako na mamahagi ng lupang sakahan sa ating mga benepisyaryo (Our gathering in Bago City is a testament that your government, with DAR as the lead agency, does not stop in fulfilling its promise to distribute farm lands to the beneficiaries),” Marcos said in his speech.

From the 4,724, the 2,828 distributed land titles will be given to agrarian reform beneficiaries in the northern part of Negros Occidental while 1,896 will be given to beneficiaries in the southern part.

Marcos said the distribution of Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOA) as well as the e-titles is part of the more than 11,000 titles that will be distributed to all beneficiaries this year.

Marcos also ordered DAR to closely coordinate with other agencies to expedite the distribution of the land titles as the agency is targeting to award 11,772 titles this year.

Meanwhile, Marcos distributed P69.17 million worth of assistance, which include organic fertilizer, farm machinery and equipment (FMEs), Tulay ng Pangulo Para sa Kaunlarang Pang-Agraryo (TPKP), and Farm-to-Market Roads (FRMs) to 1,830 beneficiaries in Negros Occidental.

“Sa ating pagtataguyod ng Bagong Pilipinas, layunin natin ang sabay-sabay na pag-unlad kung saan walang sinuman ang maiiwan sa pag-asenso (In our efffort to build a New Philippines, our goal is that we grow together and nobody will be left behind),” the President told the beneficiaries during the land title distribution at the Manuel Y. Torres Memorial Coliseum and Cultural Center.

“Itong programang pang-agrikultura ng pamahalaan ay nagpapakita lamang ng seryosong pagkilos ng administrasyon upang matulungan kayo na magkaroon ng higit na kakayahan, kasanayan at mga pagkakataon sa pag-unlad (This agricultural program shows the serious actions that the administration is taking to help you to have your own capacity, experience and chance to progress),” he added.
