Muntinlupa suspends face-to-face classes in Child Development Centers, 2 tertiary institutions

The Muntinlupa City government suspended face-to-face classes in Child Development Centers and two tertiary institutions in the city following the decision of the Department of Education (DepEd) to implement distance learning in all public schools for April 8.

In its advisory on April 7, DepEd said, “In order to allow learners to complete pending assignments, projects and other requirements, all public schools nationwide shall implement asynchronous classes/distance learning on Monday, 8 April 2024.”

“Likewise, teaching and non-teaching personnel in all public schools shall not be required to report to their stations. Finally, private schools shall not be covered by this advisory but shall have the option to implement the same,” it added.

Mayor Ruffy Biazon said in Muntinlupa, asynchronous classes/distance learning will also implemented for April 8 in Child Development Centers under the city’s Early Childhood Education Division and the city-run Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa and Colegio de Muntinlupa.

The ECED supervises early childhood education in Muntinlupa covering children zero to four years old including Infant and Toddler Early Development, and Pre-Kindergarten 1 and 2.
