Marbil: Pinoys pay for cops' salary in exchange for best public service
Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), urged all policemen to give their best service to every community in the country in exchange for the salary they received from the Filipino people.
Marbil made the remark on his first Flag-Raising Ceremony at Camp Crame in Quezon City as the Chief PNP.
“Policemen are paid for public service. Let us give them (the people) what is right. Let us follow what is right. Let us not go astray,” said Marbil.
“Let us give our community the best public service. Let us make them safe at the time they sleep, and at the time that they go out of their house,” he added.
Marbil is President Marco’s third PNP chief following the retirement of General Benjamin Acorda, Jr. on April 1.
In his speech after he assumed the top PNP post, Marbil vowed to aggressively push for the digital transformation of the police service.
He also highlighted the need for all policemen to do their part in winning the trust and confidence of the people.
And this is done, according to Marbil, through fast and efficient public service in terms of maintaining peace and order.
“Let us make a big difference in people’s lives. Let us give them the best service,” said Marbil.
