BUTUAN CITY – Police arrested a suspected high-value individual (HVI) in the illegal drugs trade in Barangay 10, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte on Saturday, April 6.

Police Regional Office 13-Regional Public Information Office (PRO 13-RPIO) chief Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer said the help of concerned villagers and the continuous partnership between PRO-13 and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) against the illegal drugs trade led to the arrest of the suspect Nat, 41, who yielded 23 grams of suspected shabu valued at P156,400 and drug paraphernalia on Saturday, April 6.
Nat and confiscated items are in the custody of the Buenavista police station for proper disposition.
“The help of our concerned villagers and partnership of all law enforcement agencies, especially PDEA, accurately hit the line of the illicit drug trade,” Ometer said.
PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Kirby John B. Kraft said the suspect was caught on a search warrant issued by the Municipal Trial Court, 10th Judicial Region in Buenavista, for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Kraft said vowed to make Caraga a drug-free region in Mindanao. "We keep the momentum in apprehending those involved in the illegal drug trade and ensure that they will be placed behind bars."
