Drag artist assaulted in fiesta concert in Pangasinan

BAYAMBANG, Pangasinan – Drag artist Taylor Sheesh, real name John Mac Lane Coronel, was allegedly attacked and injured during a performance here on Saturday, April 6.

Investigation said Sheesh was performing during a concert in the town fiesta when he was hit by the allegedly intoxicated suspect.

Police arrested his attacker, Edison, 39, who is facing charges of unjust vexation.

Mayor Niña Jose Quiambao apologized to Sheesh for the incident.

"I want to truly apologize and say sorry to Taylor Sheesh and to all those offended specially the LGBT community,” she said.

“Again inuulit ko (I repeat), our administration strongly supports and love the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transsexual) community. I’m very upset and I will make sure that justice will be served,” Quimbao added in a live statement in her Facebook page.
