Banh Mi Kitchen rules Thai 3x3 tilt, books spot in Hongcheon Challenger

Banh Mi Kitchen emerged as champions in the 3x3 Basketball Thailand International League 2024 on Sunday, April 7, at Mueang Pathum Thani in Zeer Rangsit.

MVP Tonino Gonzaga scored four of the last six points for the Philippine club, including the game-clinching deuce with 1:50 to play to pull off the 21-15 victory over New Force of USA in the championship game.

Also delivering big contributions were Louie Vigil, TH Tumalip, and Yutien Andrada as Banh Mi Kitchen completed its unbeaten run in Thailand.

With this triumph, Banh Mi Kitchen punched its ticket to the Hongcheon Challenger in South Korea from May 11 and 12, which will serve as a qualifier for the 2024 Fiba 3x3 World Tour Chengdu Masters in June.

The team swept its three games in Pool A to earn an automatic quarterfinal berth before hurdling Sriracha Eagle, 14-10, in the final eight and Malaysia Rising Star, 16-12, in the semifinals.

It was indeed a memorable run for Banh Mi Kitchen with Vigil also ruling the Two-Point Shootout for the squad, which was supported by MNL Kingpin, Bauerfeind, POG Trading Inc., and Homegrown Australia.
