BANGUED, Abra – The provincial government suspended classes in this province on all levels for four days this week due to extreme heat.

Gov. Dominic Valera issued Executive Order No. APR-01, Series of 2024, suspending face-to-face classes and seeking the use of alternative modes of learning on April 8, 11, 12, and 13.
“The current face-to-face setup of our educational institutions in holding classes necessitates direct physical interaction among students, educators, and school personnel, thereby increasing the vulnerability to heat-related illnesses and exacerbating the risk posed by the extreme heat conditions,” Valera said.
“In light of the foregoing circumstances, it is imperative to prioritize the safety and well-being of our students, educators, and school personnel,” he added.
