Woman stabbed dead by father-in-law over old grudges

BACOLOD CITY â€“ A woman was allegedly stabbed dead by her father-in-law over old grudges in Barangay Hacienda Fe, Escalante City, Negros Occidental on Friday, April 5.

Police withheld the names of the 37-year-old victim and the 66-year-old suspect.

Investigation said the suspect approached the victim when she passed by his house and opened up about their past misunderstandings.

A heated argument erupted and the victim hit the suspect in the face. The suspect drew a knife and stabbed her in the stomach thrice.

Police Major John Ganzon, Escalante police chief, said the victim passed away in a hospital a few hours later.

He said the suspect surrendered to responding policemen.

The suspect may face homicide or murder charges.
