Woman held for sextortion in Batangas

TANAUAN CITY, Batangas – Police arrested a woman here on April 2 for allegedly threatening to release the sex video of her boyfriend with his ex-girlfriend on social media.

The 20-year-old victim from Tanza, Cavite has filed an extortion complaint against the suspect, a resident of this city.

The victim, accompanied by her relatives and the Tanza police led by Police Master Sgt. Donnie Roi Montano, reported the incident to the Tanauan City police station.

The victim told police that the suspect, who discovered and retrieved the sex video from her boyfriend's mobile phone, demanded P30,000 in exchange for deleting and non-publication of the sex video.

An entrapment operation was planned by the police and arrested the suspect in Barangay Darasa at around 8:30 p.m.

Recovered from the suspect were iPhone 13 mobile phone and the marked money.

The suspect is under police custody and also faces robbery charges.
