ParSci bags awards in Division Schools Press Conference 2024

The Parañaque Science High School (ParSci) received several awards in the Division Schools Press Conference 2024.
ParSci bagged the top spots in various English and Filipino categories in the Division Schools Press Conference 2024 which was held last March 12 to 15 at Santo Niño Elementary School.
In a post on the online edition of ‘The Momentum’, ParSci’s official school publication, the science high school got the first place in the four group categories and two individual categories in English, while there were two first placers in the individual categories and one in the group category for Filipino.
The four top winners in the group categories in English were TV Script Writing and Broadcasting, Radio Script Writing and Broadcasting, Collaborative Desktop Publishing, and Online Desktop Publishing.
In the Online Desktop Publishing, the publication, The Harbinger was adjudged as Best News Page Layout, Editorial Page Layout, Column Page Layout , Feature Page Layout, and Overall Layout.

Best Column Writer award was given to Jaril M. Andrade, a grade 11 student who is the son of Manila Bulletin correspondent, Nel Andrade, while the Best Editorial Writer, Best Editorial Cartoonist and Best Photojournalist awards went to Tanya Reverie Rafanan; Best News Writer award went to Rean Besitan; Elina Kefira Morales-Best Feature Writer and Irvin Troy Sumague, the Harbinger’s editor-in-chief, was adjudged as the Best Overall Layout editor.
In the individual categories also in English, first placer in News Writing was Shenelle Olyn Santos and Stephanie Guintao in the Copyreading and Headline Writing.
Second placer was Felicity Sarmiento (Science Writing) while third placers were Jamila Castro (Feature Writing); Angel Kimenero (Photo Journalism); and Angel Del Rosario (Editorial Cartooning). Fourth and tenth placers were Abigail Marco (Editorial Writing) and Alec Zander
Bucad (Column Writing) respectively.
The members of the group category first placers were TV Script Writing and Broadcasting- Shandi Bernaldez (News Anchor); Rasheika Ducos (News Reporter); Jericho Santarina (News Reporter); Janela Bathan (Infomercial); Marcelia Escat (Head Technical); Radio Script Writing and Broadcasting (The Daily Scoop)- Vaughn Godwin Wong (Anchor); Genevieve Nicolas (News Presenter); Marie Estellie Sarmiento (Technical Application); Anika De Gracia; Noreen Moises; Rhia Eugenio; Ralph Hutmacher; Collaborative Destop Publishing (Codex Veritas)-Eulheinne Lopez (News Writer, Photo Journalist); Denice Kim Delgado (Column Writer); Thomas Dean Garcia (Science Writer); Mikcael Castro (Sports Writer); Jariz Ian Jacinto (Overall Layout); Angelica Sagnit; Jade O. Ng and Jacob Roj Vallesteros.
Ms. Irene E. Inventor, the adviser of The Momentum, was the English coach of the ParSci contestants.
In the Filipino category- first placers were Kian Gabriel Managbanag (Pagsulat ng Balita) andGenessa M. Mujer (Pagwawasto at Pag-uulo ng Balita). Third placers were Rhian A. Cenon (Pagsulat ng Kolum); and Eires Luzlyn Furio (Paglalawarang Tudling); while Auroa Marie
Silangcruz (Pagsulat ng Balitang Agham Pangkalusugan) and Lairus Cedrick Bravante (Pagsulat ng Balitang Pampalakasan).
Group category winners in Filipino were – Collaborative Desktop Publishing- Lairus Cedrick Bravanta; Ang Gunita; Rina Mae Bayag; Ashley Diesta; Gemicah Gem Espiritu; Sealtiel Ray Cube Cleto; Maethan Rich Acidella and Vanze Louse Molina Sujed. They were coached by Ms. Evelyn Cortez
ParSci principal, Mr. Ruel A. Grafil congratulated the winners and the contestants for bringing honor not only to the school but the entire Paranaque City as the top winners will represent the city in the Regional Schools Press Conference which will be held on April 29 and 30 in Pasay City.
