Man kills wife before turning gun on himself in Batangas

CUENCA, Batangas â€“ A man killed his wife before shooting himself on Saturday morning, April 6, in Barangay Balagbag, this town.

CUENCA, Batangas Municipal Police Station

Police identified the victim as Elsa Medana.

Investigation said Elsa and her husband, Candido, had just arrived from the market and alighting from their vehicle when she suddenly shouted for help.

Elsa ran away from her husband who shot her twice in the back with a caliber .45 pistol before pointing the gun on his head and shooting himself. He died on the spot.

She was taken to the Martin Marasigan District Hospital here and was later transferred to Metro San Jose Medical Center in San Jose, Batangas, where she died while being treated.
