Las Piñas police recognizes VAWC officers' efforts in promoting gender equality

The Las Piñas city police recognized the barangay officers of violence against women and their children (VAWC) for leading and promoting gender equality and fostering women empowerment.
Las Piñas Vice-Mayor April Aguilar said the awarding was held at the Disaster Risk and Reduction Managemet Office (DRRMO) building located at Barangay Talon Dos on April 2.
Aguilar also said the local police under the leadership of Col. Sandro Jay Tafalla conducted the awarding of VAWC barangay officers in different city’s barangays.
The recognition ceremonies ais to uplift the morale of all women especially policewomen and to show appreciation to their contribution, support, and efforts in promoting gender equality.
She said the awarding also showed the city's commitment to addressing and preventing violence against women and children, highlighting the critical role of VAWC officers in the initiatives.
The vice-mayor said the event was not only celebrating the achievements made during National Women's Month but also reinforcing the ongoing commitment of the city government to creating a safer community.
