“Saan man kayo, aabutin kayo ng ating pamahalaan (Wherever you are, our government will reach you).”

House Speaker Martin Romualdez gave this remark as he reaffirmed President Marcos’ commitment to providing the necessary assistance to the Filipino people.

Romualdez recently led the Cash Assistance and Rice Distribution (CARD) Program in several areas in Eastern Visayas—an initiative he calls “revolutionary”.

“Ang programa pong ito ay masusi nating pinag-aralan para makapagbigay ng ginhawa sa ating mga mamamayan,” the House leader said.

(We have carefully studied this program to provide relief to our citizens.)

“Dito po ipinadadama ng administrasyon ni Pangulong Marcos sa ating mga mamamayan ang pagkalinga ng pamahalaan,” he added.

(This is where the administration of President Marcos makes our citizens feel the government's care.)

From April 5 to 7, over two million kilograms of rice and a total of P250 million in cash assistance were granted to about 83,000 beneficiaries in the Eastern Visayas region.

According to the Speaker, beneficiaries mostly came from marginalized groups, which include the poor, senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), single parents, and family breadwinners, among others.

“Ito na ang pinakamalaking CARD Program distribution simula noong ilunsad natin ito noong nakaraang taon. Makakaasa kayo na mas palalakihin at palalakasin pa natin ang programa para mas maraming Pilipino ang makinabang sa bigas at ayuda mula sa gobyerno,” Speaker Romualdez said.

(This is the biggest CARD Program distribution since we launched it last year. You can count on us to expand and strengthen the program so that more Filipinos can benefit from rice and aid from the government.)

“Buong Pilipinas po ang target natin sa CARD, at isusunod na po natin ang ibang lugar na hindi pa natin napuntahan. Saan man kayo, aabutin kayo ng ating pamahalaan,” he said.

(The entire Philippines is the target of CARD, and we will go to other places we haven't been to yet. Wherever you are, our government will reach you.)

Launched in Metro Manila last year, the CARD program intends to boost the public’s purchasing power. It also serves as a strategic measure against hoarding and price manipulation of rice stocks.
