CEBU CITY – A forest fire broke out in Oslob town, southern Cebu on Saturday night, April 6.

Firefighters took several hours to put out the fire that hit the mountains of Barangays Poblacion, Cañang, Calumpang, and Daan Lungsod,
The fire started at around 7 p.m. in Barangay Cañang and spread to at least 70 hectares of grassland.
Residents posted photos of the fire on social media and sought help from authorities.
First alarm was raised at 9:33 p.m. as the flames rapidly spread. The fire was put under control about two hours later.
Fire out was declared at 2:15 a.m. on Sunday, April 7.
Nobody was injured in the fire, the cause of which is still being investigated.
