'Dangerous' heat indices may be felt in 13 areas over the next two days


The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecasted that seven areas in the country may experience "dangerous" heat indices on Monday, April 8, and six areas on Tuesday, April 9.

PAGASA predicts that a heat index of 43°C may be felt in Dagupan City, Pangasinan; Aparri, Cagayan; and Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, while a heat index of 42°C may prevail in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte; Puerto Princesa City, Palawan; Daet, Camarines Norte; and Cotabato City, Maguindanao on April 8.

On April 9, a heat index of 44°C may be experienced in Aparri and Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. Additionally, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, and Dagupan City, Pangasinan, may have a heat index of 43°C, while Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, and Daet, Camarines Norte, may have a heat index of 42°C.

PAGASA warns the public that heat stroke is probable during continuous activity with heat indices ranging from 42-51°C.
