The National University (NU) announced its suspension of in-person classes on Saturday, April 6.

It followed similar announcements on April 5 by Adamson University (AdU), University of the East (UE) Manila and Caloocan campus, Far Eastern University (FEU), University of Makati, and San Beda University.

The announcements also mentioned the implementation of Work-From-Home (WFH) setups for faculty and staff.

The decision of the universities aimed to prioritize students' well-being as the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) logged the highest heat index at 48 ºC in Roxas City, Capiz which falls within the “danger” category.
