The one-two punch of Santi Santillan and Beau Belga continued to do wonders as Rain or Shine scored a come-from-behind 110-103 victory over Blackwater in the 2024 PBA Philippine Cup at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium on Saturday, April 6.

Santillan and Belga took turns in pushing the Elasto Painters who began the contest ice cold but found their rhythm in time to pick up their third straight victory and move further up the standings with a 3-4 slate.
The sweet-shooting Santillan came three point shy of tying his career-high, finishing with 28 points as he kept ROS afloat in the face of a surging start for Blackwater. He also added seven rebounds and three assists for another consistent outing.
Belga, fresh off his first career triple-double last time out, showed veteran poise and finished what Santillan had started with 21 points – six of which came in the last five minutes when the Elasto Painters kept a rallying Bossing at bay.
ROS also got a huge lift from Jhonard Clarito who led a 10-0 spurt that allowed the Elasto Painters take the lead for good after trailing by six, 92-86 early in the final frame.
Clarito chipped in 16 points off the bench while Andrei Caracut had 12 points, four rebounds and four assists and Gian Mamuyac added eight points and game-high eight assists.
Rain or Shine was actually caught by surprise by a quick starting Blackwater which opened the contest, 11-0, and even took its largest lead of the game at 14, 18-4 midway through the opening quarter.
Santillan then buried consecutive hits to wake up the slumbering Elasto Painters who then responded and cut the deficit to just five, 49-54, at the break.
Still, the Bossing kept the Elasto Painters at bay in the third frame behind the efforts of Jvee Casio, Rey Suerte and James Kwekuteye. Rain or Shine however would not be denied as it took the lead and never relinquished it to send Blackwater to its third-straight defeat.
Suerte paced the Bossing with 20 points while Rey Nambatac, who was a catalyst to Blackwater’s good start against his former team, finished with 13 before fouling out of the contest in the fourth quarter.
