Robert Bolick continued to show the way for the Road Warriors while also getting timely lift from Anthony Semerad to inch closer to a possible quarterfinals spot after improving to a 5-1 record.
Bolick stayed hot with 26 points and nine assists while Semerad fired away 22 points built on five triples in the wire-to-wire win that saw NLEX enjoy a lead that went to as high as 24 points.
An explosive opening frame set the tone for the rout as the Road Warriors immediately took a double-digit spread after firing 26 points while limiting the cold-shooting Hotshots to just 12 at the end of the first 10 minutes.
Magnolia bared its defensive fangs, slowing down NLEX when it only scored 11 points in the second frames although still not enough to break into the double-digit barrier. The Road Warrior were still up 37-27 at the half.
The Road Warriors however stepped on the gas pedal anew in the third frame, totally leaving the Hotshots in the dust after erecting a 71-47 advantage early in fourth quarter.
Missing the boundless energy from Calvin Abueva, who served a one-game suspension after flashing an obscene gesture towards a fan in Magnolia’s loss to Ginebra in the last game, Magnolia always looked a step slower against the fluid NLEX offense.
Ian Sangalang and Russel Escoto were the lone bright spots for Magnolia with 13 apiece.
