P29.2-M illegal drugs seized in Ilocos region from January to March – PRO-1

CAMP FLORENDO, La Union – The Police Regional Office-1 seized P29.2-million worth of illegal drugs in 302 operations in the first quarter of 2024 in the Ilocos region compared to the same period last year with P28.7 million.

Police Brig. Gen. Lou F. Evangelista, PRO-1 director, said 360 suspected drug pushers were arrested from January to March.

Last year, 303 individuals were arrested in 277 operations during the same period.

“These numbers reflect the PRO-1’s sincere efforts in accelerating our methods in suppressing and blocking all sources of illegal drugs in the region,” Evangelista said.

Evangelista commended his men for their efforts, sacrifices, and hard work in the campaign against drugs. He ordered appropriate awards for his men for their accomplishments.
