Notable measures
While infrastructure projects are underway, President Marcos noted the different measures the government and the private sector have implemented to cope with the traffic situation in the National Capital Region (NCR).
According to Marcos, the government has been developing the nearby provinces such as Bulacan, Pampanga, Cavite, and Laguna and spreading job opportunities there so people would not have to go to the metropolis.
He, however, asked for the public's understanding that the related development projects, which include infrastructure projects, would take a while before they are completed.
"Hindi bukas na natin mararamdaman ito dahil malaki talaga 'yung scale at kung minsan pa nga ay nakakaabala pa sa mga traffic na iyon (We won't feel the effects tomorrow since these are large-scale projects and sometimes they even disrupt the traffic)," Marcos said.
"Kaya't pagtiyagaan niyo lang at pag nabuo na 'yan, asahan ninyo gaganda ang sitwasyon natin (So please be patient because once they are completed, you can expect that our traffic situation will improve)," he added.
President Marcos commended the different innovations that the private sector continues to implement to circumvent the traffic situation. He particularly cited the shift of some industries to a complete work-from-home setup and the adoption of a four-day work week.
"Lahat ng ito ay magandang mga solusyon at maaaring makatulong sa sitwasyon ng traffic natin (All of these are good solutions that could help us amid our traffic situation)," he said.
