Filipino-Argentinian Chanty of K-pop group Lapillus appears on 'It's Showtime'
Chanty, the Filipino-Argentinian member of K-pop girl group Lapillus, appeared on the first airing of the Philippine variety show “It’s Showtime” on GMA Network on April 6.
“It’s Showtime” replaced “Tahanang Pinakamasaya” (formerly “Eat Bulaga”) on GMA 7.

Chanty is signed up under the Korean agency MLD Entertainment and is also a talent under Sparkle GMA Artist Center. Chanty debuted in Lapillus under MLD in June 2022 and joined Sparkle GMA Artist Center in November 2022.
During “It’s Showtime,” Chanty said, “Ako po, I’m really, really happy kasi hindi ko naman po first time na mag-guest po sa ‘Showtime’ as I was also a Kapamilya. And this is actually my first appearance po sa GMA alone (For me, I’m really, really happy because it is not my first time to be a gust on ‘Showtime’ as I was also a Kapamilya. And this is actually my first appearance on GMA alone).”
Chanty was a former Star Magic talent under the defunct Kapamilya network, ABS-CBN.
“So it feels kinda like parang nakakaliti na GMA pero ‘Showtime’ yung first appearance ko (So it feels kinda like tickling that it’s GMA but ‘Showtime’ is my first appearance),” she added.
Her appearance on “It’s Showtime” came a day after MLD Entertainment announced that Chanty has taken an indefinite hiatus from Lapillus’ group activities due to chronic fatigue syndrome.
“Chanty has been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and has seen improvement in her health through continuous treatment and consistent care from her attending doctor,” MLD Entertainment said in a statement.
It added, “However, there is concern that engaging in high-intensity group musical activities may cause the relapse of her symptoms and strain in her health.”
“Therefore, following this, while Chanty will remain a member of Lapillus and continue her individual activities, her participation in group activities as a singer will be indefinitely postponed,” the agency said.
MLD Entertainment said, “We will do our best to support the health and recovery of our artist, so we ask for the utmost understanding of the fans. We humbly ask for warm encouragement and continuous support for the future activities of Lapillus and Chanty.”
