DSWD boosts assistance to 25 livelihood associations in Agusan del Norte
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Saturday, April 6, extended the seed capital fund to 25 livelihood associations in Agusan del Norte.

DSWD, in a statement, handed over the P7.6 million to be utilized as start-up capitalization of the local entrepreneurs for their respective livelihood ventures and businesses on Friday, April 5.
Secretary for Specialized Programs under the Operations Group DSWD Asst. Florentino Loyola Jr. encouraged the members of the organizations that received capital assistance to strive and work together to achieve a stable and sustainable livelihood that will lead to an improved standard of living.

"This seed capital fund gives these associations the chance to manage their livelihood activities," Loyola said, "which will uplift their socio-economic well-being and that of their families," he added.
DSWD said under the agency's initiatives, the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) assistance seeks to benefit farmers and fisherfolk and to strengthen the value chain of their agricultural and fishery products.
Once the projects are implemented, the DSWD, in collaboration with local government units (LGUs), will monitor the programs to ensure that the associations are mentored and supplied with the technical help they require to "succeed."
