Chinese arrested in Pasay City over illegal drugs

A Chinese man facing illegal drug charges was arrested by members of Pasay City Police Warrant and Subpoena Section on Friday, April 5.

The Southern Police District (SPD) said the suspect, identified as Lay Qiuhong Katya, 30, tagged as Top 6 wanted person, was arrested at around 4:50 p.m. in Barangay 70, Pasay City.

The city police chief, Col. Mario Mayames, said the suspect was arrested by virtue of a warrant issued by Judge Xerxes Ultra Garcia of Parañaque Regional Trial Court Branch 295 on February 15, 2024.

Mayames said Garcia recommended a bail of P1,040,000 for five counts of possession of illegal of drugs.

He said the suspect was immediately detained at the police custodial facility after his arrest.
