Trough of LPA may bring rain showers, thunderstorms over parts of Mindanao
Rain showers caused by the trough or extension of a low pressure area (LPA) may continue to affect parts of Mindanao over the weekend, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) in its weekly weather outlook on Friday, April 5.
Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected over Soccsksargen and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao on Saturday, April 6.
Meanwhile, PAGASA said the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy, with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, known as the easterlies.
From April 7 to 12, the easterlies will be the dominant weather system in the country, resulting in partly cloudy to cloudy skies across the archipelago with a chance of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, primarily in the eastern section.
PAGASA said the heat index in some parts of the country could reach the “danger" level this weekend.
