Taguig relaxes dress code for public school teachers, students due to rising temperatures
Public school students and teachers in Taguig can now wear comfortable clothes in light of rising temperatures in the country.
School Division Office for Taguig and Pateros Superintendent Alejandro Ibañez issued a memorandum relaxing the dress code for teachers and students in public schools to combat the heat.
Under the memorandum, teachers can wear polo shirts, while students will be allowed to wear P.E. uniforms, jogging pants, and white shirts.

Outdoor activities between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. are strongly discouraged to prevent heat-related health risks among students.
After a meeting was held with the Taguig-Pateros SDO, the Taguig City government ordered the Taguig City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), along with the TOWER (Taguig Open Weather & Environmental Reporting System) team, to provide daily, localized heat index reports tailored for each of the city's 52 public schools.
The reports, coming from detailed climate data obtained via satellite imagery, are designed to provide information to parents, students, and school personnel to effectively prepare for and mitigate the health risks associated with extreme heat.
"By understanding the local heat index, the community can take appropriate precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses such as heat stroke," said Mayor Lani Cayetano said.
The city government also inspected public schools and repaired air-conditioning units.
For April 5, Taguig's TOWER made a forecast of the heat index in the city rising to 39 degrees Celsius with 34 degrees Celsius air temperature and 53 percent relative humidity.
