LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – A man from San Carlos City, this province, tagged in the killing of a policeman in 2017, was arrested when he arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay City on April 3.
A report from the Police Regional Office-1 (Ilocos) said the 38-year-old suspect was nabbed on two alias warrants of arrest for murder with no bail and frustrated murder with a P200,000 bail dated July 19, 2018 and signed by Judge Rusty M. Naya, acting Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court, First Judicial Region, Branch 56, San Carlos City.
The warrants of arrest were implemented by the San Carlos City police with the assistance of the Philippine National Police-Aviation Security Group.
He was taken to the San Carlos City Police Station for documentation prior to turnover to the court.
The suspect was checked and marked as arrested in the PNP Enhanced e-Warrant and National Police Clearance System.
The suspect was allegedly involved in the murder of Police Corporal Jimbo Agtarap of the San Carlos City police on June 6, 2017. His companion, Police Corporal Rachael Cancino, was wounded.
Agtarap was killed by gunmen onboard a van while he and Cancino were onboard a motorcycle on the San Carlos-Urbiztondo Road in Barangay Agdao.
The suspect came from Vietnam when he was caught.
