Grade 5 pupil drowns in Laguna resort

CAVINTI, Laguna – A Grade 5 pupil drowned in a resort in Barangay Mahipon-Lumot, this municipality, on Wednesday night, April 3.

Police identified the victim as Rohanna Gimantog, 11, from Barangay Mahipon-Lumot.

The victim was taken to a hospital in Luisiana, Laguna where she was declared dead.

Police said the victim was with her classmates when she drowned.

A follow-up investigation is being conducted.

Meanwhile, a decomposing fetus was found in a grassy portion of Purok 7, Santa Teresa Looban, Barangay Dalahican, Lucena City, Quezon, on Wednesday morning, April 3,

Police said the fetus covered by a piece of cloth was found by a farmer who reported the discovery to the barangay.

The barangay, in turn, informed the police who are conducting follow-up investigation.

The City Health office brought the fetus to a funeral home and was blessed and buried at the New Lucena Public Cemetery.
