
Aside from military veterans, all commuters can also ride the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) for free in observance of the Day of Valor on Tuesday, April 9, the Light Rail Transit Administration (LRTA) has announced.
In an advisory, lawyer Hernando Cabrera, LRTA Administrator, said all passengers on LRT-2 may avail of the service during the peak periods from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
"Ito pong libreng sakay natin sa lahat ng pasahero ng LRT-2 ay bilang pakikiisa po ng LRTA sa paggunita ng Araw ng Kagitingan (The free LRT-2 service for all passengers is a gesture of solidarity by the LRTA in honoring the Day of Valor)," said Cabrera.
"Isang pagpupugay po sa mga beterano at sa modern-day heroes lalo na po sa sektor ng transportasyon (This is a salute to the veterans and modern-day heroes, especially those in the transportation industry)," he added.
The first train for both Recto and Antipolo stations will leave at 5 a.m., with the last train from Antipolo departing at 9 p.m. Recto's last train leaving at 9:30 p.m.
