Filipino designer Veejay Floresca is part of upcoming design competition series 'Dress My Tour'

Unlike other design competition shows, 'Dress My Tour' will task contestants to create pieces for the music industry's brightest stars

Streaming platform Hulu is set to launch a design competition series where designers will battle it out in making show-stopping garbs for today’s music superstars. Dubbed “Dress My Tour,” the show aims to take "fans behind the curtain of the unpredictable fashion and music industries.”

Hosted by supermodel and actress Kate Upton, the series will follow 11 fashion designers go through different challenges, with the winner taking home the $100,000 prize. The roster includes Filipino fashion designer Veejay Floresca.

Veejay started her journey in the fashion industry in Manila before heading to the USA to broaden her brand. Now, the LA-based Filipino designer centers her craft on sustainable practices allowing her to create unique, one-of-a-kind garments for clients while minimizing environmental impact and promoting ethical production methods.

This is not the first time Veejay entered a design reality TV show. In 2008, she was part of the first season of Project Runway Philippines, where she ended up as one of the runners-up.

The designer is also set to present her latest works in the inaugural “Filipinxt” show in New York. A celebration of local talent in fashion design and the arts, Filipinxt will take place on May 5 at the historic 4W43 Building.

Apart from Veejay, “Dress My Tour” will feature contestants Keiandrea Daniels, Michael Shead, Rey Ortiz, McCauley Star, Afaf Seyam, Jessica West, Todd Fisher, Julissa Peralta, Cierra Zacchaeus, and Traviance Dunn. Its judging panel will include Emmy-winning costume designer Marina Toybin and creative director/choreographer/director Laurieann Gibson. While music stars JoJo Siwa, Paula Abdul, Toni Braxton, Ty Dolla $ign, Coi Leray, JT (The City Girls), French Montana, and Jessie James Decker are slated to make their apperance as guest judges for the show first season. There are no news yet regarding the show's release date.
