DOST to host 1st International Nuclear Science Olympiad in the Philippines
To spearhead the new frontier for nuclear science in the global education scene, the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Nuclear Research Institute (DOST-PNRI) will be hosting this year's first International Nuclear Science Olympiad (INSO) in the country.

In a released statement on Friday, April 5, DOST said the Olympiad will be held from July 31 to August 7 at New Clark City in Pampanga.
Apart from bettering the way nuclear topics are taught in educational institutions, DOST stressed that the event also wants to raise awareness of the application of nuclear science and technology.
With the growing need for young professionals in fields utilizing nuclear and radiation technologies in Asia and the Pacific, DOST also hoped that in the long run, this would encourage students to pursue careers related to nuclear science and technology.
The newly created Olympiad will be an annual international competition open to junior and senior secondary school students under the age of 20.
The department further noted that the deadline for pre-registration is until April 15 and all participants are expected to have completed their registration requirements by May 31.
Meanwhile, it is also advised to organizations interested in sponsoring the Olympiad to contact [email protected] or visit https://insofirst.ph/sponsoring for more information.
